The story of Queen Veeravati is considered to be the most popular. In this story, the queen was the most beloved of her seven brothers. He did not like his sister being hungry during the fast. Those seven brothers had tricked her into breaking her first Karva Chauth by presenting a mirror in the form of an imaginary moon, out of love for their sister. Soon after breaking the fast, Veeravati’s husband died. Due to which everything was over for him. She cried a lot. This sorrow of her was not seen by Goddess Maa. Then the goddess appeared and revealed the truth about their brothers. He asked Veeravati to complete the ritual again. Then he kept a strict fast and worshipped. Seeing her penance, Yama, the god of death, was forced to revive her husband.

  • When you are eating your sargi, eat it in moderation because sweet things increase the appetite later. If it is mandatory because of your customs, then keep it to a minimum. Food rich in protein would be a good option.
  • It is also good to consume dry fruits like almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts etc. This will give you plenty of fat and protein, which will be enough for a day.
  • Use lots of fruits while eating sargi, as fruits contain ample amounts of fiber which will fill you up with energy.
  • Drink cold water as little as possible. Hot water absorbs faster in the body which will keep the sargi safe.
