Significance of Angaraki Chaturthi
A saint named Angaraki was an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha. He was the son of sage Bharadwaj and his mother Prithvi. Angaraki did severe penance for Lord Ganesha, due to which Lord Ganesha appeared before him. Ganapati asked him to ask for any boon he wanted.
On this Sant Angaraki said, Lord, I always want to be in your shelter. On this Lord Ganesha said Evamastu. He said that whenever Chaturthi falls on Tuesday, it will be known as Angaraki. Angaraki is also known as Lord Mangal. It is believed that due to the effect of this fast, the obstacles in the work of human beings are removed. Mangal Dosh is also removed in the horoscope.
